WHAT DOES GETTING A DENTAL IMPLANT LOOK LIKE AT GSMILE DENTAL?
Having lost a tooth or teeth can be very upsetting for many. However, at Gsmile Dental we are proud to offer implant placement with results in natural looking teeth. Our modern, clean, and professional office offer many options for patients with missing teeth. Dental implants are replacement tooth roots. Implants provide a strong foundation for permanent or removable replacement teeth that are made to match your natural teeth.
Implants also allow you to wear full dentures and partial dentures without worrying that they will slip or fall out. Implants with screws placed in the jaw will serve as attachments for a metal bar, which will help support a removable denture.
An Implant Bridge will have support from the implants, which is more beneficial unlike a tooth supported bridge which puts a heavier load on the other teeth.
At GSmile Dental, we can replace your missing teeth in a way that looks entirely natural and beautiful. If you have experienced adult tooth loss, we encourage you to call (929) 388-1255 and schedule an appointment to determine if you are a good candidate for this procedure. In the meantime, here are some questions that are commonly asked about dental implants.
Dr. Gil Dechavez obtained his first dental degree from the University of the East in the Philippines in 1984. He practiced dentistry in the Philippines until he moved to the United States in 1985. In Queens, he operated a crown and bridge dental laboratory in Queens that served the Tri-state area. He continuously managed the laboratory even while attending New York University College of Dentistry and doing an extended hospital rotation at St. Vincent Catholic Medical Centers.
After obtaining his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from New York University in 2002, he practiced dentistry in Manhattan for several years. Now, Dr. Dechavez draws from more than 20 years worth of experience in prestigious institutions and working alongside other talented dentists to provide quality care and aesthetic work to his patients. He and his dedicated staff are committed to serving you
I love being a dentist. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people, and the friendships that I’ve built with my patients and their families are one in a million. It has always been my focus to make each patient feel at home when they come to me for treatment and I work hard to give my patients the attention they deserve.
My education in dentistry has provided me with a strong foundation of knowledge and experience. Before becoming a dentist, I received the following degrees:
By regularly participating in continuing education, I am aware of the latest technology and dental treatments. My patients deserve the best, and continuing education allows me to provide my patients with more options and better results. I am a member of several professional associations that provide me with opportunities for continuing education, including the:
I am truly blessed to live and work in such a wonderful community. I enjoy getting to know my patients and their families, and it is such an honor to know that I have made a difference in so many of my patients’ lives. I couldn’t ask for a better job or for better people sharing their smiles with me. I look forward to working with you.
When you use dentures or a dental bridge to replace teeth, they only replace the visible portion of the tooth. While an effective way to restore your smile and ability to eat and speak, this does not provide the level of stimulation that your jawbone needs to prevent resorption. Your roots and teeth stimulate your jawbone every time that you bite down and chew. This informs the body that your jaw is serving its purpose by supporting your teeth. Without it, your body will begin to leach calcium from your jawbone to distribute to other areas of the body. The loss of bone density can give you a sunken appearance and make you appear far older than you actually are. By placing dental implants your tooth can be restored while preserving your jawbone and facial appearance at the same time. No other solution is as effective at doing so.
At GSmile Dental, Dr. Dechavez offers the Snap-on Smile procedure for patients that do not qualify for traditional dental implants or those that are looking for a faster solution to tooth loss. This procedure can be completed in two appointments. The first appointment is to take an impression of your mouth and to take measurements so that a new set of teeth can be created. The teeth will look natural and beautiful while being attached to synthetic gums, similar to how dentures are created. The difference is that this set of teeth snaps in place, secured to a set of four implants. When you come in for the second appointment, the four implants are placed, and the new set of teeth are secured to them. You can leave with a full set of natural looking teeth that are incredibly durable. We invite you to call (929) 388-1255 and learn more about this procedure. For those looking for a fast solution to tooth loss, this is a fantastic option that will remain in place when you speak, eat and engage in high impact activities.

Dental 🦷 visits are calming & quick - which I appreciate because I use to dread dental visits. But Dr. Dechavez, Viviana and his entire staff truly make me feel at ease and their expertise shows each visit. Dr. Espinoza is also amazing. I’ve been going to this office for over 10 years, and I couldn’t be happier with the care I’ve received. Dr. Dechavez and the entire team are always professional, friendly, and genuinely care about their patients. The office is clean, well-organized, and appointments are always handled efficiently. They take the time to explain everything clearly and make you feel comfortable every step of the way. It’s hard to find a dentist you can trust long-term, and I’m grateful to have found one here. Highly recommend!Posted on Arnie SusonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Generally good experience in all my visits but when an instrument is placed on my chest during the procedure it felt impersonal. Like I’m a working table rather than a living person/patient. A bit of awareness of TLC on that part please. Other than that everyone is polite and sweet. Appreciate that very much.Posted on Marilou BorjaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This dental office is staffed with knowledgable , friendly and efficient personnel from the dentist down to the receptionist. I first went to Dr Dechavez a couple of years ago for emergency dental work. I was so impressed by the work he did and his demeaner that I left my former dentist for him. The office is clean and the equipment very modern. The people are friendly and knowledgeable. Dr.Gil DeChaves goes out of his way to make the patient comfortable! The office is visible from traffic on 55 Ave, though not from Queens Blvd. It is just around the corner from Target. The halls are wide enough for wheelchairs but the door is always locked and is a manual door, so it would be difficult for a handicapped person to open without help. There is only street parking for the office. There is a large paid parking garage in The Target mall a block away. I recommend Dr Gil and company wholeheartedly!! 4/14/26 update: I am still very happy to recommend Dr Gil Dechaves and his staff. If you are frightened of dentists, the doctor and his staff will soon put you at ease and they go out of their way to make your visit as pleasant as possible.Posted on Ferdinand MagnoTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
