DR. GIL DECHAVEZ

Dr. Gil Dechavez obtained his first dental degree from the University of the East in the Philippines in 1984. He practiced dentistry in the Philippines until he moved to the United States in 1985. In Queens, he operated a crown and bridge dental laboratory in Queens that served the Tri-state area. He continuously managed the laboratory even while attending New York University College of Dentistry and doing an extended hospital rotation at St. Vincent Catholic Medical Centers.

After obtaining his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from New York University in 2002, he practiced dentistry in Manhattan for several years. Now, Dr. Dechavez draws from more than 20 years worth of experience in prestigious institutions and working alongside other talented dentists to provide quality care and aesthetic work to his patients. He and his dedicated staff are committed to serving you

I love being a dentist. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people, and the friendships that I’ve built with my patients and their families are one in a million. It has always been my focus to make each patient feel at home when they come to me for treatment and I work hard to give my patients the attention they deserve.

I had a truly outstanding experience at this dental clinic. From the moment I walked in, the front desk staff welcomed me warmly and made check-in smooth and stress-free. Carlos, who handled my X-rays, was especially professional and efficient—he explained each step clearly, which immediately put me at ease.
I also want to sincerely thank the hygienist who performed my cleaning. The procedure was thorough yet gentle, and I appreciated how attentive they were to my comfort throughout. My teeth felt noticeably cleaner right after, and the care taken during the process really stood out.
Most especially, I want to thank Dr. Gil Dechavez. He took the time to walk me through my results in detail, pointing out exactly what he was seeing and why certain treatments were recommended. Instead of feeling overwhelmed, I left with a clear understanding of my dental health and a plan I felt confident about. His patience and clarity made a big difference in easing my anxiety.
What stood out most was how seamlessly the entire team worked together to create a calm, supportive environment. Even as someone who usually feels nervous at dental visits, I felt genuinely cared for from start to finish.
