Dr. Dechavez is an expert veneer dentist and provides dental veneers so that patients can restore damaged teeth or transform their smile into something beautiful. At GSmile Dental we often treat patients that have a variety of dental concerns. Some patients visit our office because their tooth has been broken while others are looking to create a beautiful smile. Most people are candidates for the procedure as long as their tooth structure and roots are in place. If, however, you have a cavity or gum disease this will need to be treated before the procedure is completed.
If you want to learn more about dental veneers or the options available for you, we recommend that you call (929) 388-1255 to schedule an appointment. We are known throughout Queens, NY as a trusted provider of veneers and can let you know if they will help you to achieve the goals that you have for your smile.
Patients love how veneers make their teeth look. This procedure is an excellent solution, because veneers can be used to transform your smile into one that looks perfect and beautiful. It does so, while still using your natural teeth, so there is no need for surgery, and the recovery time is reduced. Since the veneers are made to match your other teeth, they will look natural, and no one will be able to tell that you had any cosmetic dentistry work completed. Another benefit is that they are made out of a stain resistant material. This means that your teeth will stay whiter and brighter, even if your favorite beverage is a hot cup of coffee. Dr. Dechavez is an expert veneers dentist and can use them to transform your smile.
We also use dental veneers for restorations. When teeth become cracked, chipped or broken, a veneer can be used to restore the tooth to its full functionality. As long as the tooth structure is intact, it is an excellent way to restore the appearance of a tooth while making it possible to eat and speak without feeling any discomfort.

When patients visit our office, we will take an impression of their teeth so that the dental veneers can be created in a lab. They will be made to match the size, shape, and color of your teeth so this can take a week or more.
In order to have dental veneers placed, Dr. Dechavez will first prepare your tooth by removing a portion of the enamel. This is necessary so that the veneer will lay flat and in line with your gum tissue. After the tooth has been prepared, a temporary veneer will be secured using removable glue. While wearing a temporary veneer, it is important to brush your teeth gently and avoid eating any foods that could push it out of place. Since it is secured by removable glue, it can be moved fairly easily.
When your permanent veneers are ready, you will come back to our office so that Dr. Dechavez can remove the temporary and ensure that the new veneer is a perfect fit. It is typically attached using a water based solution to see how it looks. If any adjustments need to be made, it will be done at this time. Otherwise, the tooth will be cleaned, and the dental veneer will be bonded to the tooth. Patients love how the results look. They are instant, and you can start flashing your smile right away.
Your teeth will typically be sore for a few days after they have been prepared and after the permanent veneers are placed. During this time, you can take pain medication to help you stay comfortable.
Patients also benefit from getting rest and using a cold compress to reduce any swelling. Dr. Dechavez recommends that patients watch what they eat for a few days and stick with foods that are soft. While there is a short recovery time when getting dental veneers, the procedure is entirely worth it because in the end you will have a beautiful smile.

I love being a dentist. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people, and the friendships that I’ve built with my patients and their families are one in a million. It has always been my focus to make each patient feel at home when they come to me for treatment and I work hard to give my patients the attention they deserve.
My education in dentistry has provided me with a strong foundation of knowledge and experience. Before becoming a dentist, I received the following degrees:
By regularly participating in continuing education, I am aware of the latest technology and dental treatments. My patients deserve the best, and continuing education allows me to provide my patients with more options and better results. I am a member of several professional associations that provide me with opportunities for continuing education, including the:
I am truly blessed to live and work in such a wonderful community. I enjoy getting to know my patients and their families, and it is such an honor to know that I have made a difference in so many of my patients’ lives. I couldn’t ask for a better job or for better people sharing their smiles with me. I look forward to working with you.
A veneer is a thin shell that is made out of porcelain or ceramic. The shade of the veneer, along with its shape and size will be made to match your surrounding teeth so that it blends in perfectly.
We can accomplish a variety of things using dental veneers. By placing them on top of the teeth, we can close gaps, make teeth even in length, cover dark stains and create a uniform looking smile. In this way, veneers can create a smile that rivals the most famous Hollywood stars. In fact, many of them have had this procedure to create the smile you see today. The nice thing is that you don’t have to be famous to improve your smile.

Dental 🦷 visits are calming & quick - which I appreciate because I use to dread dental visits. I’ve been going to this office for over 10 years, and I couldn’t be happier with the care I’ve received. Dr. Dechavez and the entire team are always professional, friendly, and genuinely care about their patients. The office is clean, well-organized, and appointments are always handled efficiently. They take the time to explain everything clearly and make you feel comfortable every step of the way. It’s hard to find a dentist you can trust long-term, and I’m grateful to have found one here. Highly recommend!Posted on Arnie SusonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Generally good experience in all my visits but when an instrument is placed on my chest during the procedure it felt impersonal. Like I’m a working table rather than a living person/patient. A bit of awareness of TLC on that part please. Other than that everyone is polite and sweet. Appreciate that very much.Posted on Marilou BorjaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This dental office is staffed with knowledgable , friendly and efficient personnel from the dentist down to the receptionist. I first went to Dr Dechavez a couple of years ago for emergency dental work. I was so impressed by the work he did and his demeaner that I left my former dentist for him. The office is clean and the equipment very modern. The people are friendly and knowledgeable. Dr.Gil DeChaves goes out of his way to make the patient comfortable! The office is visible from traffic on 55 Ave, though not from Queens Blvd. It is just around the corner from Target. The halls are wide enough for wheelchairs but the door is always locked and is a manual door, so it would be difficult for a handicapped person to open without help. There is only street parking for the office. There is a large paid parking garage in The Target mall a block away. I recommend Dr Gil and company wholeheartedly!! 4/14/26 update: I am still very happy to recommend Dr Gil Dechaves and his staff. If you are frightened of dentists, the doctor and his staff will soon put you at ease and they go out of their way to make your visit as pleasant as possible.Posted on Ferdinand MagnoTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
